The layout was designed by Chris Hobson and discussed, modified and agreed with Lynda Jude and Mark Williamson on Thursday 21st May 2026.

There is a menu bar with several items each menu bar provides a pulldown menu. Hence each page is directly accessible from a two click approach, select menu then select the page. Only the HOME page is different as there is only one home page.

Sandbox

​

A menu that isn't shown on the main menu bar, it's a placer holder for pages like this one and also for pages that you may use as an a experiment to test features. A "sandbox" being a play area. The Sandbox item should never be made visible.

Places to update at the start of a season

By necessity we have to duplicate a few contact details on a few pages. These need to be changed when the contact person changes. These are

Page URLs

​

Typically you create a new page by copying a similar page to the one you want to write. Be sure to give the new page a sensible URL (In the menu SEO Basics accessed from the page in the Manage Pages view. Otherwise the pages URL will be something like "copy of other-page-name" which looks silly in a browser's URL bar. Also as a URL cannot have spaces use a dash in place of a space to make a nicely formed URL.

Some basic style guide notes

​

• Avoid long pages with lots of separate topics, remember most people are likely to be using a mobile with smaller screen space. 

• As far as possible avoid duplication, remember you can add links to smaller pages. As an example Subscriptions

• If you really must duplicate something be sure to update this page to say where the duplication and what it is so we can update two places at once. (best avoided)

• Remember to check the layout in the Preview mode and make sure you check the laptop and mobile layouts. Mobile layouts can be tweaked separately to laptop layout.  

• Don't forget to follow the two click rule, decide the best menu item to add your new page to

• If you upload images don't just dump them in the top level image folder, create a new folder with an obvious name to group your images. This makes them easier to make and to find. Delete obsolete images.
